POST-CHRISTMAS UPDATE

LILA

On Christmas morning Tim and Lila were at Dad's, after the Christmas Eve party. When Tim tried to wake Lila he discovered she was unable to respond. They called an ambulance that took her to the Mercy Hospital in Williston where they diagnosed her with severe pneumonia, and decided to transport her via air ambulance to St. Alexis Hospital in Bismarck where she is now (evening of December 26) in critical condition and on a ventilator to help her breath. The doctor thought she might not survive the night and suggested the family should be nearby. Tim, Cindy, Karen, Linda, and Charlene are all there and spent last night in a waiting room sleeping (a little!) on the floor. Lila's prognosis is quite uncertain at this point, but she has overcome several major episodes like this before, and hopefully will do so again!

Dennis and Julie

Dennis was selected as the new Administrator for Mercy Hospital in Williston! Julie will be able to work in Williston with the same audiology group that she is now with in Minot. They will be moving in March. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM ON A TERRIFIC ACHIEVEMENT!

Happy New Year!

CHRISTMAS EVE NOTES

CHRISTMAS EVE AT DAD'S

Lila and Tim arrived at Dad's on Saturday, December 23, and are all set to enjoy Christmas Eve--the usual big celebration. They will return to Bismarck on Christmas Day. Lila said on the phone this afternoon that she was feeling pretty good and enjoying her visit to the ranch.

Dad says he is all set for the big event and looking forward to seeing everybody. All of Marilyn's family are coming, and all of the Ron and Mavis Berry part of the clan will be there except Will and Trista--who are in Argentina. (Will said in an e-mail that he would try to post some photos and messages to the Blog at some point in their trip.)

A BIRTHDAY AND A NEW HOUSE

Mollie is celebrating her 10th birthday today, and enjoyed a slumber party with three of her friends on Friday evening. She told us she enjoyed herself at lot and is looking forward to Christmas!

Dione and Saul have just purchased another house in the same neighborhood of Yellow Springs, OH, as their current house. The new place is bigger and nicer, and has a large lot that backs up against a farm that has a conservation designation. They will not have to worry about any new housing development next door.

DARA AND MADELYN IN TUCSON

Dara and Madelyn arrived in Tucson for a four-day visit with us over Christmas. We have been having a great time catching up on all the news, opening very nice presents, and generally celebrating the holiday!

DEATH OF DICK ROSA

Unhappily, Dione and Maureen's step-father, Dick Rosa, died of cancer two days ago in Polson, MT, at age 79. He seemed in quite good health until the last couple of months. Maureen was in Polson for the past week helping her mother out, and was there when Dick died. Mat and Maureen returned to Helena yesterday for Christmas with friends and Mat's mother.

Happy Holidays,

Bill and Marie

CHRISTMAS WISHES FROM THE WILDMANS

Hi all,

I wanted to take time to wish all my family a very Merry
Christmas! Each year seems to go by faster and faster and at this time of
the year I seem to start reflecting on the past. What a blessing that we
could spend a short time together at the Lassey reunion! It would be
wonderful to be able to do a campout again at Grandpa's farm. The farm
brings back so many good memories and I treasure each and every one of them!

This upcoming year could prove to be a challenge for me as my
boss (City Clerk) turned in her resignation on a Monday and was done on that
Friday! It really caught me off guard as she didn't let any of us know her
plan. The Mayor appoin ted me Acting City Clerk and I agreed to take it
temporarily. I sat down with him yesterday and explained that with 32 years
in I felt it would not be in my interest for the City's to take the position
permanently. I hope to be able to work for the City for a few more years
however I don't need the stress

Christmas Plans With Sackmans

Hi,

Just got your e-mail and thought I would tell you of the Christmas plans here. All three of my daughters and families will be home this year and also all of the grandchildren. It is the first time in many years that we have been able to spend Christmas together so we are all looking forward to it.

Dad is not feeling well so I think Mavis is going to take him to the Doctor tomorrow. He has been very dizzy and just not himself.

Have a very Happy Holiday Season.

Love, Marilyn & Issy

NEWS FROM THE GUNTHERS

Sure am enjoying this blog! It's nice to catch up on what is happening with everyone in the Lassey Clan.

Our latest news is that my husband, Terry, is no longer working in the grocery industry! He is now employeed by Juro's Medical Supply company in the shipping/receiving department. Has weekends off, great benefits, and simply enjoys being away from the hussle & bussle of the grocery industry after 37 years! We now work the same schedule, which is hard to get used to after all these years! As for me, I'm still working for BLM in Purchasing/Contracting. I have 2 years, 7 months before I'm eligible to retire, but have decided to continue working for a few more years, and plan to retire around age 58. I just can't see myself not working and don't want to have to start over with another company.

Other news from my extended family is that my dad's wife, Sylvia, had a heart attack on Friday and is in the hospital in Minot. They caught it in time and put a stent in, and she is feeling fine, and is expected to get out today with a full recovery. Sure did give my dad a scare!

Sister Linda was up this past weekend to Billings for a weekend of shopping and playing. She stayed with us and we always enjoy having her come to visit, as well as other family members. We are blessed with a lovely home and have two guest bedrooms, so if any of you are ever in the area, we have plenty of room and love having family come to visit.

Hope all is well with all of you and you have a very blessed Christmas!

LILA DOING WELL!

Lila went to a hockey game last night and watched Christopher (Cindy and Don's son) make a goal to help his team win the game! How about that? She is feeling better and stronger, although still has some trouble sleeping (as many of us do!). She is even planning to go (with Tim) to Dad's for Christmas. Really good news. Furthermore, she said it was beautiful in Bismarck, like 50 degrees--almost as warm as Tucson (about 65 today).

TOMORROW IS CINDY'S BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER YEAR OF MATURITY, CINDY! First thing you know, you will be joining AARP!

NEWS FROM CARTWRIGHT AND OTHER FRONTS

Ron and Mavis took Dad to Minot where they saw Julie and got Dad's hearing aids cleaned. Julie is more than busy--working full time and also completing her doctor's degree in audiology. Mavis said she hopes to be finished in August!

Will and Trista are leaving Monday, December 11, for four months in South America. They will go first to Buenas Aires, Argentina, for two months of language training. They will then take a 40-day trip through several other countries and hike part of the Inca trail. Sounds really exciting and is certainly quite an adventure!

Marilyn and Issy are arriving in Sidney next week (mid-December) for the Christmas Holidays from their winter home in Yuma. They will return to Yuma in early January.

All is well in Tucson where we'll spend the Holidays, with Dara and Madelyn coming for five days. We look forward to their visit!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO THE LASSEY CLAN!
